Following the groundbreaking first season of "Soul of a Nation," ABC News announced two upcoming specials will reflect on the first anniversary of George Floyd's death and commemorate Juneteenth. The specials will air on Tuesday, May 25 and Friday, June 18.

On Tuesday, May 25 (10:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET), a year after Floyd's death and the racial reckoning that swept the country, "After Floyd: The Year that Shook the World – A Soul of a Nation Special," will reflect on the cataclysmic, generation-defining moment that arguably inspired change around the world, chronicle the dramatic and epic events surrounding Floyd's death and spotlight where the country goes from this point forward.

On Friday, June 18 (9:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET), ABC News will present an exciting evening of celebration and resilience in observance of Juneteenth with two hours of intimate storytelling, powerful tributes and musical performances. This marks the second year in a row ABC News will produce a special to honor the history and significance of Juneteenth among the Black community and around the United States. The first season of "Soul of a Nation" delivered the most diverse audience (59% BIPOC) of any primetime program on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX, and on average nearly half of "Soul of a Nation's" viewers were Black (49%), the highest Black audience composition of any primetime program on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX (Source: Nielsen, Season to date, 9/21/20-4/6/21, B'cast Prime excluding sports and specials, P2+, Live+Same Day). The show was the first weekly broadcast network newsmagazine that aimed to put Black life in America front and center, presenting viewers with a unique window into authentic realities of Black life and diving deeper into this critical moment of racial awakening. Episodes can be streamed on the ABC app and Hulu.

"Soul of a Nation" was executive produced by Eric Johnson and Robe Imbriano. Chantre Camack served as Executive Editorial Producer, James Adolphus was series director and Marie Nelson is the series creator and Senior Vice President of Integrated Content Strategy at ABC News.
