American Housewife's Meg Donnelly Named Radio Disney's Next Big Thing

American Housewife's Meg Donnelly has been named Radio Disney's NBT (Next Big Thing)! The actress and singer—who plays Taylor Otto, the Otto family's oldest child—is also a successful recording artist who has become known for her signature style of pop music with a hip-hop twist. Fans of Housewife shouldn't be too shocked to hear that Donnelly has a music career, seeing as how she often demonstrates her singing chops on the show. Here she is as Taylor, dreaming about performing on American Idol in Season 3, Episode 15, "American Idol":

NBT is a multiplatform talent program that puts the spotlight on breakout artists and showcases their journey to success. As a result, Donnelly will be featured in a series of exclusive NBT videos across Radio Disney, Disney Channel, the Radio Disney app, the DisneyNOW app and social media platforms. During the summer of 2018, Donnelly independently released her debut single "Smile," which quickly rose to #3 on the Radio Disney Top 50 alongside follow-up single "Digital Love."

Radio Disney's NBT program illustrates how the network is delivering on its commitment to identify and nurture emerging talent while providing them with a platform to help boost their careers. Donnelly joins an impressive roster of NBT alumni who have quickly grown to be some of today's biggest artists, including Island Records' Shawn Mendes, Epic Records' Camila Cabello and Fifth Harmony, GRAMMY®-nominated Kelsea Ballerini, Def Jam Records' and GRAMMY winner Alessia Cara, Hollywood Records' Sofia Carson, Kemosabe/RCA Records' Becky G, RECORDS/Columbia Records' Lennon Stella, Buena Vista Records' Temecula Road, Atlantic Records' Why Don't We, Warner Bros. Records' Anne-Marie and Unitas Entertainment LLC group's JAGMAC.

Through Disney Channel Voices, a new initiative to showcase diverse music and give multitalented young stars a platform to express themselves and make a deeper connection with their fans, Donnelly released her music video for "Digital Love." Donnelly is scheduled to perform as part of the Disney Channel Voices Showcase at Disney Channel Fan Fest on April 27 at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California. She will also be releasing an EP featuring a track titled "With You" with multi-platinum recording artist Fetty Wap this year.

On the acting front, in addition to her work on American Housewife, Donnelly is set to reprise her role as Addison in the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie ZOMBIES 2.
