Today, February 24, 2014 General Hospital aired its 13,000th episode. At 50-plus historic years and growing, General Hospital has received the prestigious Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama a record eleven times. The medical drama is the longest running American soap opera currently in production and the longest running scripted drama on television currently in production.
