Grey's Flashback: Preston Burke

Talk about old memories, do you remember Dr. Preston Burke? Preston was chief cardiothoracic surgeon at Seattle Grace where he caught the eye of a young intern named Cristina Yang. Soon after the two of them started a relationship with its fair share of ups and downs including break ups, miscarriages and more. The beginning of the end came when Preston was shot. The injury effectively ended his career as a surgeon which created a huge strain on his relationship. All this cumulated at Preston and Cristina’s wedding. He knew he could not accept Cristina for the person who she was and left her waiting at the altar.
