As the S.H.I.E.L.D. team attempts to clean up the damage a swayed Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) left in her wake last episode, Mack (Henry Simmons) and May (Ming-Na Wen) discuss her turn to Hive (Brett Dalton), as they head towards the Command Center of the Zephyr. May straps into the pilot seat as Coulson (Clark Gregg) speaks about saving Daisy, and preventing Hive from getting more Inhumans.
Watch Coulson inspire the team:
Meanwhile, Daisy and Hive discuss Grant Ward and Daisy's past life, and Daisy feels like the emptiness she always felt is gone now. Hive tells her that they're going to remake this planet into a home the Inhumans deserve. They show up on James' (Ep. 316) trailer doorstep, and Daisy accuses James of keeping a piece of the Kree technology to himself and she throws a Terrigen crystal at his feet. He turns, and has the ability to supercharge and blow-up anything he touches. Hive quickly sways James, and they retrieve the Kree tech from beneath the trailer using Daisy's powers.
Watch them recover the missing Kree tech:
Back on the Zephyr, Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) bring up the identity of Doctor Holden Radcliffe, who they believe is the key to finding a cure to Hive's sway. Coulson puts Fitz-Simmons on the mission to go to Romania to seek out Radcliffe, with Mack as backup. Coulson also ignores a call from Talbot. They get a ping of seismic activity and soar off to James' location, where they find a broken husk, indicating that he has been turned into an Inhuman. They discover the crack in the trailer from Daisy's quake, and spot explosives lining the trailer. May and Coulson jump in the hole Daisy created to avoid the explosion, with a little help from a shield Coulson now keeps in his robotic hand.
In the transhumanist club in Romania, Fitz and Simmons are forced to prep for an unanticipated transplant surgery on a patient with Fitz' cybernetic eyes. Dr. Radcliffe will only see them after the surgery is completed. After some deliberation, they agree to the surgery. Simmons, after noticing something in the patient's cornea, jams a needle straight into it. The patient doesn't flinch, because he already has a cybernetic eye, and because the patient is Dr. Radcliffe himself!
Meanwhile, Daisy enters the room to see Fitz and Radcliffe. Alisha takes Radcliffe while Daisy quakes Fitz against a wall. Fitz pleads with Daisy. She mimics Hive's words to Simmons: stay away, for your own safety.
As Coulson watches video surveillance, he explains to May that Talbot was calling him because they are about to take down Hydra. Completely. Talbot gives the go-ahead, and the Head is cut. Hydra is eliminated. But Coulson and May feel nothing, not with Hive out there.
Watch the destruction of Hydra:
Fitz finally gets to the rendezvous point, where he and Simmons consummate their love at long last.
