Serinda Swan was born in Vancouver, Canada, to a family of artists, including her mother, an actress, and her father, a theatre director with a well-established acting school. Serinda gravitated to the arts, and, at three, she starred in her first motion picture, Cousins, with Ted Danson and Isabella Rossellini.
Serinda was introduced to the world in popular shows like Supernatural, Psych, Reaper and Hawaii Five-O. In 2009, Serinda was cast as the iconic Zatanna in the hugely popular show Smallville. Feature films soon followed with The Breakup Artist; Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, directed by Chris Columbus; Disney's TRON: Legacy, opposite Beau Garrett, Olivia Wilde and Jeff Bridges; as well as The Baytown Outlaws, with Billy Bob Thornton. Serinda wrapped an independent film entitled Sister, starring opposite Reid Scott and Bruce Davison, which tackles the issue of mental illness, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014. Additionally, she starred in the thriller entitled The Veil, opposite William Moseley.
In 2011, Swan was cast as the female lead Erica Reed, in the A&E series Breakout Kings. The show lasted two seasons, and, upon its completion, Serinda jumped right into a three-episode arc on USA's Graceland, playing the hard partying yet hard working, unorthodox DEA agent Paige Arkin. Her role was immediately upped to a series regular, and Graceland ran for three seasons. On her hiatus from the show, Serinda did a special guest arc on the hit CW show The Tomorrow People. Most recently, Serinda booked the role of Ann Bancroft in Ryan Murphy's new show Feud! and will also recur in HBO series Ballers, playing The Rock's new love interest. Serinda also wrapped Blood on Wheels, produced by James Franco. Serinda has also been cast as the lead in Marvel's Inhumans for ABC. Swan will play Medusa, the queen of the Inhumans, opposite Anton Mount and Iwan Rheon.
Outside of acting, Serinda's true passion is activism. In 2011, she became an official ambassador of Friends to Mankind, an organization that partners with non-profits to raise awareness and funds through educational campaigns. Serinda has cycled across Cambodia, installed nets in Africa, and skydived 18,000 ft., the highest jump in North America, in hopes of encouraging others to take a stand and make a difference. She has helped raise over a million dollars.
Serinda resides in Los Angeles.
