The Bachelor 2019 Recap, Week 4: Caelynn's Important Conversation

The Bachelor 2019 goes international this week, as Colton Underwood and his bachelorettes—whose numbers have now been thinned to just half of the original 30—travel to Singapore for exotic dates to foster their 15 budding romances. Chris Harrison says the show has never been to Singapore, but that's only one of the big moments for the show this week. Tayshia's death-defying 1-on-1 date brings her closer to Colton, Demi and Courtney start up a new feud, and Caelynn has a very serious conversation with Colton about her past—and how it might affect their future. You can watch The Bachelor season 23, episode 4 right here on ABC.com or in the ABC app, or read on for highlights and spoilers to find out who went home on The Bachelor!

A Leap of Faith

First up is Colton's 1-on-1 date with Tayshia. The date card said simply "Let's fall in love," which could mean just about anything. But little did Tayshia know, the key word in that card was "fall"—because they're going bungee jumping.

Not normally the sort of thing you want to be thinking on the way to your first date, but things work a little different here in Bachelor Nation. Thankfully, no one died, and the cute couple overcame their fears of heights/falling. Tayshia opened up to Colton about her past—she married her first boyfriend, and they got divorced a couple years back. Colton didn't mind and told her that her boundless optimism was super infectious and that he always looked forward to seeing her.

Eating Things That Leap

On the group date, Colton took the ladies out on the town to experience some of Singapore's culture: shopping, eating exotic foods like bullfrog and fish eyeballs, getting leeches slapped all over their bodies, and fortune tellers. The last one proved problematic for Cassie and Colton, as the soothsayer told them that they were brother and sister in past life. Kinda kills the mood, eh? Let's find out:

Leaping to Conclusions

At the group date cocktail party, Courtney is lamenting the fact that Colton is having nice moments with all the other girls, and wonders aloud if Colton thinks she's just chopped liver. Demi tells her to go talk to him and MAKE a moment happen. Courtney says she's fine and will wait patiently for him to come talk to her. Demi says whatevs and grabs Colton again for a chat, but once Courtney catches wind of that, she is not pleased:

This argument isn't over.

Caelynn's Powerful Conversation

Caelynn had previously hinted at having been through an experience that had changed her life, and when she gets a 1-on-1 with Colton, she finds an opportunity to talk to him about it. After a day of pampering as the two go shopping at some high-end clothing stores and pick out the perfect date attire for Caelynn, she tells Colton her story. When she was in college, she and some of her friends were sexually assaulted, and the perpetrators largely escaped punishment. While this traumatic event greatly affected Caelynn's life, she also recognizes that it's made her strong:

ABC and The Bachelor are working with RAINN to to spread the word on how to find help if you or someone you care about has experienced sexual violence. It's not your fault, and you are not alone. Help is available 24/7 through the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE or visit RAINN.org. We've also collected some resources for survivors of sexual assault here.

All Beef, All the Time

At the final cocktail party, one of the biggest feuds in the house was ended, and one exploded. Caelynn and Hannah B took some time to talk about their rivalry, and were able to find some common ground. They decided that their arguments were only hurting each of them, and while they don't have to be best friends, there's no reason for them to be taking shots at each other. Beef: squashed.

Courtney and Demi, however, took their battles to the next level. Demi told Colton that Courtney had attacked her and that she was the "cancer of the house." Colton told Courtney. Then the fun began:

So what would Colton do about all this?

Unfortunately for Courtney, she didn't get a rose. Tracy was eliminated as well. Did Demi play a part in Courtney's elimination? Hard to say, but surely Courtney will wonder...
