The Bachelorette Premiere Recap: Britt and Kaitlyn Meet the Contestants

The Bachelorette Season Premiere got right down to business. After a few minutes meeting some of the 25 contestants who will be fighting for Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe, the show jumped right into what always proves to be the first good laughs of the season: Limo Arrivals.

Some of the guys were clearly there for either Britt or Kaitlyn, such as JJ, who arrived with a very bold offer for Kaitlyn, echoing her brassy entrance last season on The Bachelor:

JJ Wants to Puck Kaitlyn|With Britt standing right there, no less!|Contestant JJ hops out of the limo and immediately gets down to business, telling Kaitlyn he's played hockey all his life, handing her a puck, and telling her that he would really like to puck her. Kaitlyn had been feeling like most of the guys thus far had been more into Britt, so she welcomes the confidence boost and the laugh.

 

The new format where both ladies greet the guys made for plenty of awkwardness. The prime example was Shawn B's entrance, as you can see below:

Britt Likes Shawn B, He Likes Kaitlyn|The awkwardness of Limo Arrivals in one tidy package.|Bachelorette Britt Nilsson gets a warm hug from Shawn B, and she's feeling the sparks instantly. But that was before Shawn walked over to Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and tells her that she's the reason he's here, while Britt looks on. Basically, this is all of the awkwardness of the two Bachelorette system, all in one clip. From the 2015 season premiere of The Bachelorette.

 

The group hug was a solid idea to defuse the tension, but he can't help professing his feelings for Kaitlyn right off the bat, which didn't make a smitten Britt feel very confident. Nor did Kaitlyn sneaking into to house to say hello to the guys who had already arrived, a move that Britt felt was disrespectful and unfair:

Chris, a dentist, made a sweet entrance in a cupcake car:

Shawn E made waves by showing up in a car that pays tribute to a Bachelor Franchise icon -- the hot tub:

Ryan M (already a few drinks in by this point) didn't love the car, or Shawn E, and likely did not make a new friend. The tension of the evening definitely got to him as he continued to down his booze, leading to a dip in the pool and almost starting a couple fights. But this is the part where he crosses the line:

Grabbing one of the Bachelorette's butts just isn't something you can do. And Host Chris Harrison jumped into action and handled the situation himself:

After that, the guys cast their votes for who they want to continue on as the Bachelorette, Britt or Kaitlyn. Find out who it will be TONIGHT!
