Jose Armenta and His Dog Zenit
Jose Armenta grew up in a tough neighborhood and enlisted in the Marines because he wanted stability and structure. He got those things along with a sense of honor. He became a Marine dog handler. At first he did not want to form a bond with Zenit because such an attachment is dangerous in this job as the mission must come first. In 2011 Jose was injured while he and Zenit were on duty. They were separated as Jose recovered and Zenit was assigned to another handler.  After a year Jose and Zenit were re-united.
