Actor Biography

Ana Ortiz had most recently had a development deal at ABC Studios and The ABC Television Network. She starred on Devious Maids for Marc Cherry and Lifetime, and was featured in a guest role on Shondaland's How to Get Away with Murder, as well as on the hit ABC comedy series black-ish. Previously, Ortiz had a multi-episode arc on HBO's Hung and was seen in Martin Lawrence's Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. In 2017, she was featured in the Blumhouse film The Keeping Hours, alongside Carrie Coon and Lee Pace.

The talented and vibrant actress broke out as Hilda Suarez in ABC's hit comedy Ugly Betty, earning both ALMA and Imagen Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal as Betty's sassy older sister. Along with her personal recognition, the show was honored with a 2007 Emmy® for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, two Golden Globe® awards including Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical, and another 39 wins and 66 nominations. In addition to her recurring roles on ABC's acclaimed "Boston Legal" as A.D.A Holly Raines and as Anna in the FX series set in wartime Iraq, Over There, Ortiz also starred in the NBC series A.U.S.A. and Kristin, as well as in the ABC pilot True Blue and Fox pilot Outnumbered.
