GrooveBook Sells to Shutterfly for $14.5 million
In Season 5, Kevin O'Leary invested in GrooveBook, which lets you print photo books from your cell phone. And he was there when the company sold to Shutterfly for $14.5 million, the most ever for a business featured on Shark Tank.
"I always knew something huge was going to happen with this company,"Kevin says in the update as he sits down with the GrooveBook’s founders, Brian and Julie Whiteman, as they sign their deal with Shutterfly. "It's a perfect marriage," Kevin beams of the historic deal. Adds the often intimidating Shark: "I feel warm and fuzzy inside."
"When we pitched on Shark Tank, we barely had any sales," says Brian and Julie notes their business grew 15 times since appearing on the show.
On Good Morning America, Kevin tells George Stephanopoulos, "It’s taught all of us what a platform Shark Tank is. This young family is just proving the American dream is still alive."
