A Million Little Things, The Rookie, The Conners & More Renewed for the 2021-2022 TV Season

ABC has announced the renewal of some of your favorite scripted shows for the 2021-2022 TV season: A MILLION LITTLE THINGS (Season 4), THE CONNERS (Season 4), THE GOLDBERGS (Season 9), HOME ECONOMICS (Season 2) and THE ROOKIE (Season 4). It was also previously announced that ABC has renewed record-breaking series "Grey's Anatomy" for season 18 and its successful spinoff "Station 19" for season five. ABC also announced earlier the renewal of some of your favorite unscripted shows including American IdolShark TankAFV and more. New series Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Supermarket Sweep are also returning for a second season. A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: ABC has renewed the ensemble drama "A Million Little Things" for a fourth season. The series is created and executive produced by DJ Nash. Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and David Marshall Grant are executive producers. Nina Lopez-Corrado, Terrence Coli and Geoffrey Nauffts serve as co-executive producers. The series is produced by ABC Signature and Kapital Entertainment. ABC Signature is a part of Disney Television Studios. "A Million Little Things" grows to a 2.57 rating this season among Adults 18-49 after 35 days of delayed viewing across linear and digital platforms, nearly 5 times its Live+Same Day rating (0.54 rating). In addition, "A Million Little Things" picks up another +5.47 million Total Viewers with 35 days of multiplatform viewing to average 8.86 million viewers this season.

On next week's all-new episode titled "united front," airing WEDNESDAY, MAY 19 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), Rome tries to help Tyrell find a productive outlet for his frustrations about the racial issues in America while Regina is dealing with her mother's concerns regarding the future of Someday. 

 THE CONNERS: ABC has renewed "The Conners" from Werner Entertainment for a fourth season. "The Conners" is ABC's #1 comedy this season in Total Viewers (4.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.9/6). "The Conners" continues to follow the iconic Conner family as they face the daily struggles of life in Lanford, grappling with parenthood, addiction, dating, financial pressures, and aging in working-class America. Through it all – the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails. Bruce Helford is the executive producer and showrunner.  Tom Werner, Sara Gilbert, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen and Tony Hernandez are also executive producers. 

IS IT A HAPPY ENDING ON THE SEASON FINALE OF THE CONNERS?

On the season three finale titled "Two Proposals, a Homecoming and a Bear" airing WEDNESDAY, MAY 19 (9:00 – 10:00 p.m., EDT) big changes are coming for The Conners, with not one but TWO proposals.  

THE GOLDBERGS: ABC has renewed "The Goldbergs" from Sony Pictures Television for a ninth season. Despite the challenges, ups, downs, twists and turns of life together, everyone's favorite '80s family "The Goldbergs" proves that life will be sweet. "The Goldbergs" is produced by Happy Madison, Doug Robinson Productions and Adam F. Goldberg Productions, in association with Sony Pictures Television. Adam F. Goldberg, Doug Robinson, Alex Barnow, Chris Bishop, Annette Davis, Mike Sikowitz, David Guarascio and Wendi McLendon-Covey are executive producers.

On the upcoming season eight finale titled "The Proposal" airing WEDNESDAY, MAY 19 (8:00 – 8:30 p.m. EDT) Geoff shares with the JTP that he is planning on asking Erica to marry him and gives them the engagement ring for safekeeping. Like any good romantic comedy, several miscommunications and misunderstandings between Geoff and Erica's friends and family result in a potential derailing of the proposal, forcing Adam to step in to keep the couple's special moment alive.

HOME ECONOMICS: ABC has renewed "Home Economics" from Lionsgate and ABC Signature for a second season. In its April debut telecast, ABC's "Home Economics" delivered the best lead-in retention in Adults 18-49 (100%) of any new comedy debut on any network so far this season and marked the only new comedy to build over its lead-in in Total Viewers (+3%). [L+3, 9/21/20-5/2/21]. "Home Economics" takes a look at the heartwarming yet super uncomfortable and sometimes frustrating relationship among three adult siblings: one in the 1%, one middle-class and one barely holding on. The show was created by writers Michael Colton and John Aboud. They serve as executive producers alongside Topher Grace and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum of The Tannenbaum Company, whose Jason Wang co-executive produces along with Tucker Cawler and Julieanne Smolinski.

In the upcoming season one finale episode titled "Opus Cabernet, 2015, $500," airing WEDNESDAY, MAY 19 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT), the family gathers to try and celebrate their parent's anniversary without spoiling it - like every other year. However, after everyone learns what Tom's new novel is about, the celebration may just be the worst one yet.

THE ROOKIE: ABC has renewed "The Rookie" for a fourth season. Alexi Hawley serves as writer and executive producer. Mark Gordon, Nathan Fillion, Michelle Chapman and Bill Norcross are executive producers on the series. Entertainment One (eOne) is the lead studio on "The Rookie," a co-production with ABC Signature. ABC's "The Rookie" ranks as the #1 series in the Sunday 10pm hour this season in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 (tying NBC). "The Rookie" averages nearly 10 million Total Viewers this season (9.80 million) after 35 days of delayed viewing on linear and digital platforms, marking an increase of +6.14 million viewers over its initial Live+Same Day average. In addition, "The Rookie" more than quadruples (+342%) its Live+Same Day Adult 18-49 rating after 35 days of multiplatform viewing (2.12 rating).

On the season finale episode titled "Threshold," airing this SUNDAY, MAY 16 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), Officer Nolan mildly injures himself while chasing down a shoplifter and the local DA wants to charge the suspect with assault despite Nolan's wishes. Meanwhile, Lucy goes undercover, Lopez' wedding venue is seized by the FBI and Nolan meets his new neighbor.
