ABC Comedies Return All New January 3 & 4, 2017!

The ABC comedies return all new January 3 & 4, 2017! Start the New Year off with some new laughs as Modern Family, black-ish, American Housewife, The Real O'Neals and the rest return for some post-holiday hilarity. The Friday night comedies of Dr. Ken and Last Man Standing are also all new to round out a fun-filled first week of 2017. Get all the details below and get ready to start laughing. The Middle: "Escape Orson" – The Hecks find themselves spending New Year's Day attempting to stave off a zombie apocalypse in the Orson Escape Room, desperately trying to beat the Donahue's record of getting out with more than one minute, eight seconds to spare.  Meanwhile, Brick is convinced that the mild-mannered man assigned to the family's Escape Room group is really the famous author of the "Planet Nowhere" books; Sue divulges a secret about herself to Axl that's she's been keeping since childhood; and Mike is stunned when Frankie reveals that she had a romantic dream involving Frank Sinatra, on "The Middle," TUESDAY, JANUARY 3 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

American Housewife: "The Playdate" – Katie and Greg are thrilled when Anna-Kat finally has a playdate with a "normal" girl. But Anna-Kat has a little secret: She's a budding kleptomaniac and has taken something from her new friend Penny's home.  Greg wants her to return the item and fess up, but Katie disagrees, especially since Penny's mom, Chloe Brown Mueller (Jessica St. Clair), is one of Westport's most infamous gossips, on "American Housewife," airing TUESDAY, JANUARY 3 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network. Timothy Omundson ("Galavant") guest stars as Stan Wallace, Chloe's husband.

Fresh Off the Boat: "How to Be an American" – During Jessica's U.S. citizenship interview, she reveals shocking details about her past that even Louis was not aware of.  Meanwhile, Eddie, Emery and Evan have a day off from school and attempt to take the family minivan out for a joyride, on ABC's "Fresh Off the Boat," airing on TUESDAY, JANUARY 3 (9:00–9:30 p.m. EST).

The Real O'Neals: "The Real Sin" - Eileen and Pat's divorce papers come through, and Eileen realizes she is free to be with VP Murray, but their attempts are plagued with obstacles that make Eileen doubt her desires. Kenny tries to impress Brett by being a "bad boy" and gets a tattoo. Shannon puts out a petition to stop the dissection of frogs at school while Pat realizes that he needs to figure out how to be single again, on ABC's "The Real O'Neals," airing on TUESDAY, JANUARY 3 (9:30–10:00 p.m. EST).

The Goldbergs: "O Captain! My Captain!" – Beverly substitutes for Barry's chemistry class in hopes to inspire students in the same way as Mr. Keating from "Dead Poets Society," much to Barry's embarrassment.  When Beverly refuses to give Barry special treatment, Murray pushes Barry to work hard and prove to her that he can get a good grade.  Meanwhile, after accidentally embarrassing Emmy by reading a note about her in class, Adam enlists Erica's help to be a better friend, on "The Goldbergs," WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4 (8:00–8:30 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

Speechless: "R-O--ROAD T-R--TRIP" – The family goes on an annual impromptu family road trip, but Ray has something in store, which angers Maya when she finds out what it is.  But Maya's relentlessness proves to be helpful when she takes control of an emergency situation involving Ray's appendix. Meanwhile, Jimmy attempts to continue his tradition of spending no money on vacation while Dylan becomes anxious after visiting a fortune teller.  Back at home, Kenneth has trouble fitting in at school while JJ is away, on "Speechless," WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

Modern Family: "Ringmaster Keifth" – Trying to recover from his Thanksgiving debacle, Cam decides to treat the family to a New Year's Day feast. After realizing that Cam's recent attempt is also a complete fail and in order to salvage their meal, Mitch uses a "concierge gift card" that he received as a Christmas gift. Cam soon discovers that the concierge who is on his way to save the day is none other than his ex-boyfriend, Keifth (Kelsey Grammar), a former circus ringmaster who left him without saying goodbye. Meanwhile, Phil's dad, Frank (Fred Willard) arrives with his new girlfriend, who happens to be Phil's childhood babysitter, which sets him on a confusing tailspin. Finally, Gloria and Jay have to decide who should take care of little Joe if something should ever happen to them, on "Modern Family," airing WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4 (9:00-9:31 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

black-ish: "Their Eyes Were Watching Screens" – When Diane stumbles onto some websites that give her more than she bargained for, Dre and Bow must take action. Concerned that the internet is corrupting their children, Dre and Bow decide to make their home an internet free-zone and deal with the backlash, on "black-ish," WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4 (9:31–10:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

Last Man Standing: "Three Sisters" – When Mike and Vanessa turn down Eve's request for money to cover some recording equipment, Kristin jumps in and offers to front the bill. Mike later confronts Kristin for undercutting his parenting and giving money to Eve, and Kristin snaps back at him for always spoiling Mandy. Back at the Outdoor Man office, Kyle and Ed have an extremely awkward encounter that, in a strange way, brings them closer together. Later on at the Baxter home, dinner turns into disaster, as Eve, Mandy and Kristin argue about how unfairly their parents treat them. With everyone at odds, Mike and Vanessa come up with a plan to reunite the girls, on "Last Man Standing," airing FRIDAY, JANUARY 6 (8:00–8:31 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

Dr. Ken: "Ken's New Intern" - When Ken's attractive new intern, Erin (guest star Gillian Jacobs), shows up at Welltopia, Allison starts to feel a bit insecure when Erin's admiration for Ken veers into flirtatious territory. Meanwhile, Damona's boyfriend, Eric, wants her to confront her musical past when he learns she was the lead singer on the C & C Music Factory's 1990 dance jam, "Gonna Make You Sweat." Molly's first date with Jae leaves her wondering if he really likes her, so matchmaker D.K. goes on a secret mission to see what he can find out, on FRIDAY, JANUARY 6 (8:31-9:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.
