American Idol, Shark Tank, AFV & More Renewed for the 2021-2022 TV Season

ABC has announced the renewal of some of your favorite unscripted shows including American Idol, Shark Tank, AFV and more. New series Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Supermarket Sweep are also returning for a second season. AFV: Hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, "America's Funniest Home Videos" is produced by Vin Di Bona Productions. Vin Di Bona and Michele Nasraway serve as executive producers. ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" ranks as the No. 1 entertainment series in the Sunday 7 o'clock hour this season with Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. ABC's broad-appealing "AFV" ranks as the season's No. 1 entertainment show in family co-viewing on the broadcast networks, as 25% of the show's Adult 18-49 audience watches with a Teen 12-17 and/or Kid 2-11 present. ABC has renewed "America's Funniest Home Videos" for season 32.

AMERICAN IDOL: This will mark the 20th season overall for America's favorite and first singing competition. "American Idol" is produced by Fremantle and Industrial Media's 19 Entertainment. Executive producers include Fremantle's Trish Kinane, Jennifer Mullin, Megan Wolflick, with Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman serving as executive producers for 19 Entertainment. Fremantle distributes the series worldwide. ABC's "American Idol" ranks as the No. 1 series in its two-hour time period for the second year in a row among Adults 18-49 and places among the season's Top 5 unscripted series with Total Viewers (No. 4). After 35 days of delayed viewing across linear and digital platforms, "American Idol" averages nearly 10 million total viewers (9.4 million) this season. With over 30 million social interactions this season, "American Idol" has consistently been the No. 1 most social entertainment program on broadcast or cable according to Talkwalker Social Content Ratings (formerly Nielsen Social). ABC has renewed television's original singing competition, "American Idol," for its fifth season on ABC.

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Hosted by pop-culture legends Pat Sajak and Vanna White, "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" is executive produced by three-time Daytime Emmy® Award winner and 17-time nominee Mike Richards ("Wheel of Fortune," "JEOPARDY!," "The Price Is Right," "Let's Make a Deal," "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire"). The show is produced by Sony Pictures Television, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company. "Wheel of Fortune" is distributed by CBS Television Distribution. During its 9-week run, ABC's "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" ranked as the No. 1 program in the Thursday 8 p.m. hour in Total Viewers. ABC has renewed "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," its star-studded spin on the iconic game show, for season two.

SHARK TANK: "Shark Tank," the critically acclaimed and multi-Emmy® Award-winning business-themed unscripted series that celebrates entrepreneurship in America, is executive produced by Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill, Yun Lingner, Max Swedlow and Phil Gurin, Brandon Wallace, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O'Leary and is based on the Japanese "Dragons' Den" format, created by Nippon Television Network Corporation. The series is produced by MGM Television in association with Sony Pictures Television. ABC has renewed "Shark Tank" for its 13th season. "Shark Tank" is growing over its prior season by 7% in Total Viewers to deliver its most-watched season in 3 years – since the 2017-2018 season. ABC's "Shark Tank" ranks as Friday's No. 1 show this season in Adults 18-49 (tie). ABC has renewed "Shark Tank" for its 13th season.

SUPERMARKET SWEEP: "Supermarket Sweep" is hosted and executive produced by Emmy® Award-nominated comedienne and actress Leslie Jones. Produced by Fremantle, Jennifer Mullin is also executive producer. The fast-paced and energetic series follows three teams of two as they battle it out using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise to win big cash prizes. The original format aired on ABC from 1965-1967 and went on to become a global sensation. It was adapted in 13 international territories and, most recently, relaunched in the UK. ABC has renewed "Supermarket Sweep" for a second season.
