Your Next TV Obsession: A Million Little Things

You keep seeing A Million Little Things mentioned on social media. You keep reading about A Million Little Things' cast being nominated for awards. And of course, you have that one friend who just won't stop telling you how emotional, compelling, and just plain good the best new show of the season is—and won't stop asking you if you've started watching yet.

Well, your friend is on to something: A Million Little Things is indeed the best new show of the season, and it's destined to be your new TV obsession.

Sure, you have your excuses ready, and we get it—free time is finite and you've got to protect it. So you throw out a "Isn't it really heavy?" Or maybe a "I can't invest in another show if it's going to get cancelled." Or the ol' "I probably can't watch all the episodes anyway."

First off, right now you can watch the entire first season of A Million Little Things right here on ABC.com, in the ABC app, or on Hulu.com. So that excuse is out the window.

Second, you're free to invest in the lives of these good friends from Boston because A Million Little Things has already been renewed for Season 2. You don't have to worry about their stories ending abruptly and without conclusion. In particular, Season 1 wraps up its central mystery and most of the main storylines in a very satisfying manner.

And yes, A Million Little Things definitely tackles some big issues, but much like you and your friends being able to joke about hard times you've shared together, this is a show about a group of friends and the ways they come together and lift each other up when they encounter the many challenges that life throws our way. There are tears, sure, but this group uses humor and love to help each other get through it all, and they come out on the other side in ways that are are incredibly cathartic to watch, and leave you feeling inspired. And somehow they manage to accomplish all of that without being cheesy. It's a delicate tightrope, and this show walks it well.

Even Eddie's eulogy for Jon in the premiere (no spoilers, so feel free to watch) has laughs sprinkled in with the melancholy—and sets up the show's major characters, as well as their struggles and relationships:

So it's not "that show about suicide"—it's the show about a group of friends who have unfortunately had to deal with a suicide. It masterfully blends the emotional punch of heart-wrenching drama with whip-smart humor and ridiculously intriguing mystery, a package that leads to one of the most binge-watch worthy TV shows in recent memory.

The bottom line is that this is TV that's part of the cultural conversation, and with good reason. So don't wait: Watch the series premiere of A Million Little Things online right now, and start your new obsession.

We'll see you back here for Season 2!
