American Idol 2019 Recap: Disney Night and the Top 8 Contestants Revealed

American Idol 2019 was sprinkled with Disney magic this week! First, the Top 10 contestants headed to The Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, where they prepped for Disney Night with celebrity mentor Rebel Wilson. The finalists then returned to the iconic Idol stage and performed fan-favorite Disney songs when the show went live coast-to-coast! Fans got their chance to vote for their favorite contestants in hopes of securing them a spot in the Top 8. Watch Episode 14: Disney Night anytime on ABC.com or the ABC app, but here are some highlights you won't want to miss, including whether or not judges Katy Perry (dressed as Ursula, the villainous sea witch, from Disney's The Little Mermaid), Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan used their one last save.

Disney Night Elimination

American Idol 2019's Disney Night was the first night of live, coast-to-coast voting, and America's first chance to choose all of the contestants moving forward to the Top 8! Watch as host Ryan Seacrest announces the Top 8.

Will the Judges Use Their One and Only Save?

At the end of the night, after America chose its Top 8, the judges had to decide if they will use their one and only save for the season to keep either Uché or Dimitrius Graham. Do they use it?

American Idol Sweethearts

Last season's American Idol winner Maddie Poppe, and runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson, returned to the stage to sing "A Whole New World" from Disney's Aladdin during a special duet performance. 

Lea Wows as Ariel

Singer and actress Lea Michele joined the Top 10 to perform "Part of Your World" from Disney's The Little Mermaid. Lea is set to play Ariel in a live two-night musical performance of The Little Mermaid at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, in celebration of the movie's 30th anniversary. 

The Top 8 will compete again for America's Vote as American Idol returns LIVE coast-to-coast SUNDAY 8e|7c|5p on America's network, ABC!
