American Idol 2019 Recap: Top 3 Contestants Revealed

The journey to find the next superstar continued as the remaining five American Idol 2019 hopefuls left it all on the stage, singing their hearts out to win America's vote and land themselves a spot in the coveted season finale. They performed three songs each: a pick from in-house mentor, Bobby Bones; a song dedicated to their heroes in honor of Mother's Day; and a selection from Elton John's world-renowned catalog. Judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan helped celebrate and give critiques after each performance. The Top 3 Finalists Revealed

Once again America's Vote took place during the show, with two of the Top 5 seeing their American Idol journey come to an end.

Closing the show, Alejandro Aranda dedicated his performance of his original song, "Blesser," to his friend and musical mentor, George Lewis Jr. (the musician known as Twin Shadow).

Laci Kaye Booth Felt Right at Home 

Mentor Bobby Bones chose Miranda Lambert's "The House That Built Me" for Laci Kaye Booth, who crushed the song that really hit home to her.

Laine Hardy Honors His Brother

Laine Hardy paid tribute to his older brother, Kyle with his performance of the Beatles' "Hey Jude."

Madison Vandenburg's Perfect Elton Song

 Katy Perry slapped fellow judge Lionel Richie in awe of Madison Vandenburg's performance of Elton John's "Your Song."

Wade Cota's Mother's Day Tribute

In honor of Mother's Day, Wade Cota dedicated his performance of KISS's "Hard Luck Woman" to his mother.
