Actor Biography

Jennifer Esposito is a talented and diverse actress in both film and television. She is also a New York Times best-selling author and owner of the popular specialty bakery Jennifer’s Way.

This summer, Esposito joins the cast of ABC’s drama “Mistresses” in the role of Calista Raines, the creative director of a luxury fashion brand. Esposito can also be seen in the film “She’s Funny That Way” opposite Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, will be released later this summer.

Esposito made her first television appearance in “Law & Order” in 1996. She then joined the cast of ABC’s “Spin City,” where she appeared for two seasons. In 1999, she starred in the Spike Lee film “Summer of Sam,” which was set against the late-1970s backdrop of the Son of Sam murders. One of her most notable roles was Ria, Don Cheadle’s character’s girlfriend in the Academy® Award-winning film “Crash.”

Her other film credits include “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Wes Craven Presents: Dracula 2000,” “The Master of Disguise” and the 2004 comedy “Taxi,” among others.  On television, Esposito has appeared on “Taxi Brooklyn,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Rescue Me” and “Mercy.” She was a regular cast member on “Related” and ABC’s “Samantha Who?”

Esposito was most recently seen on “Blue Bloods” where she played Detective Jackie Curatola. In 2012, during the show’s third season, Esposito was diagnosed with a severe case of celiac disease and as a result took a medical leave from the show.

In the couple years following her diagnosis, Esposito opened a specialty bakery in New York and wrote a New York Times best-selling book that shares the name, Jennifer’s Way. She has become an influential spokesperson for the Celiac Community and is taking her baked goods to a mass level, recently expanded her staff and adding a 17,000 square foot production facility in Malspeth, Queens to help with production for major food distributors across the country.

Esposito was married to British model Louis Dowler in November and is writing her second book, Living Free Jennifer’s Way. She currently resides in New York City.
