Pearl Thusi

Actor Biography

Pearl Thusi makes her American television debut as Dayana Mampasi on ABC's Quantico.

Already a household name in her native South Africa, Thusi has appeared on numerous television shows, including, Soul City, Rhythm City, Family Bonds, Sou, Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency, iCrew and Zone 14, one of South Africa's top ten rated shows.

In 2013, Thusi was nominated for a SAFTA (South African Film and Television Awards) and starred in one of South Africa's leading and longest running soap operas, Isidingo, as Palesa Motuang.

In early 2014, Thusi landed her first lead role in a feature film titled Kalushi - The Solomon Mhlangu Story.

In addition to acting, Thusi is recognized as one of South Africa's  leading television presenters. She is the former co-host of Real Gaboza on SABC 1, and is the lead host of the popular Friday night music show Live AMP alongside DJ Warras and Luthando Shosha, where more than nine million viewers tune in weekly for interviews with some of the world's biggest artists. Thusi was a contestant on the fifth season of Tropika Island of Treasure, and in 2014, she served as host of the sixth season of the reality show.

Thusi is a former Miss KZN and successful model who has appeared in campaigns for Vodacom, Edgars, Jet, Altech Netstar, DSTV, Khomanani, SANBS, Toyota, Kellogg's Special K, Danone and KFC. She has also graced the covers of many high profile magazines including City Press iMag (November 2013), Blaque Magazine (November 2013), Gaschette Magazine (December 2013), Destiny Hair (December 2013), Bona Magazine (February 2014), True Love (May 2014) and Dossier Magazine (September 2014). She has also appeared in several glossy magazine editorials including Women's Health, Elle, Glamour and Hype. Thusi is co-owner of Ayana Africa Modelling Agency.

Thusi was born and raised in Durban, South Africa.
