With the versatility to play bright and idealistic as easily as dark and intense, Charlie Barnett is best known for the character of Peter Mills on NBC’s hit drama show “Chicago Fire.” Across three seasons of the episodic series, Barnett portrayed a young recruit eager to follow in his late father’s footsteps and find his place as a Chicago firefighter and paramedic.
Appearing on several episodes of the spinoff police series “Chicago P.D.,” Barnett has guest starred on such series as “Law & Order: SVU” and “Law & Order: CI.”
On the big screen, Barnett has appeared alongside some of the industry’s heavy hitters, including “Men in Black 3,” with Will Smith and Josh Brolin. His other features include “Gayby,” which premiered at South by Southwest Film Festival; “The Happy Sad,” a tangled love story; and “Private Romeo,” a modern take on Romeo and Juliet.
Barnett has always had a passion for acting. At age seven he began performing in his hometown of Sarasota, FL in local opera and musical theatre productions, going on to graduate from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York. Raised on a sailboat for most of his young life, Barnett still enjoys sailing, as well as classic cars. He resides in Los Angeles, though his heart remains in the Big Apple.
