Laurie Metcalf is a founding member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. She won the 2017 Tony® Award for Best Actress in a Play for her performance in A Doll's House, Part 2. She also received Tony Award nominations for Misery, The Other Place and November.
Metcalf was nominated for three Emmy® Awards in 2016, including Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her starring role in HBO's Getting On. She received three Emmy Awards for her work on Roseanne and was recently nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Jackie Harris in the revival of Roseanne. She will continue in her role as Jackie in the series spinoff, The Conners, on ABC.
Her films include Desperately Seeking Susan, Internal Affairs, Uncle Buck, Leaving Las Vegas and JFK. She most recently starred opposite Saoirse Ronan in Lady Bird, directed by Greta Gerwig.
