Baltimore Mom and Son Speak to “The View” About the Baltimore Riots

Toya Graham was caught on camera beating son her son, Michael Singleton, in an effort to get him off Baltimore streets during riots stemming from death of Freddie Gray.  On the Thursday April 30th 2015 episode of "The View"  Toya Graham and her son Michael Singleton explain what happened that day and what is happening in their community in Baltimore. "The View" co-hosts first talked about the riots on the Tuesday April 28th 2015 episode. Watch the video clip below:

Michael Singleton admits he went to the riot as he has friends who have been hurt by the police. His mother’s punishment was at first embarrassing but now realizes how much his mother loves him. Toya Graham says throwing a rock will not bring Freddie Gray back. She did not want her son perpetuating violence during the riot. Many Hail Toya’s actions as heroic.  She says she is not a hero, she just wanted to protect her only son.
