Musician makes a difference
"Arthur Ashe said: start where you are, use what you have and do what you can," Smithfield musician Nathan Sheppard says this quote is what inspired him to collect tips for a local server. Realizing the hardships that many people he knew in the restaurant industry were facing, he felt the need to do something. So, he picked up his guitar and played a couple of songs on Facebook live, in the hopes that he could garner a few dollars to give to a server in need. But he had no idea how serendipitous his random act of kindness would be for Jessica Young: a single mother of three waiting for kidney and pancreas transplants.
