“Lights bring joy. It brings families together.” With traditional Ramadan celebrations canceled due to COVID-19, families in Detroit need a way to celebrate, while also being safe. Halal Metropolis started the first annual Ramadan Lights Competition, encouraging families to deck their houses with bright, festive lights to not only celebrate the special month of Ramadan but to bring joy to their neighborhoods as well.
