Host Biography

Adam Scott is an award-winning actor and producer.

He recently starred in the acclaimed HBO series "Big Little Lies," alongside Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep. Scott was recognized with a 2020 Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as part of the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Scott is currently in production on "Severance," in which he stars opposite Patricia Arquette and is an executive producer. The series, which is being directed by Ben Stiller, will premiere on Apple TV.

Scott is well known for his role as Ben Wyatt in the Emmy® Award and Golden Globe-nominated series "Parks and Recreation." He, along with the full cast, will be bringing the show back for a reunion special on Thursday, April 30, on NBC to benefit Feeding America. For his performance in "Parks and Recreation," Scott was nominated for a 2013 and 2014 Critics' Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Furthermore, Scott got behind the camera in season six and directed the "Parks and Rec" episode, "Famers Market."

Scott has a recurring role on NBC's "The Good Place," for which he received a 2019 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Villain. His other television credits include Jordan Peele's "The Twilight Zone"; "Ghosted," opposite Craig Robinson (produced through his Gettin' Rad production company); David Wain's "Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later"; Ken Marino's "Burning Love"; and the critically acclaimed, cult-favorite "Party Down" (which he also produced).

In film, Scott has worked with some of the most respected filmmakers in drama and comedy from Martin Scorsese to Adam McKay and Judd Apatow. Scott's film credits include Ben Stiller's "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"; Scott Cooper's "Black Mass" with Johnny Depp and Joel Edgerton, Adam McKay's "Step Brothers," opposite Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly; "The Vicious Kind" (2009 Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor); Leslye Headland's "Sleeping With Other People" and "Bachelorette"; James Franco's Golden Globe-nominated "The Disaster Artist"; Jesse Peretz's "Our Idiot Brother"; "A.C.O.D," opposite Catherine O'Hara and Amy Poehler (which he produced); "My Blind Brother"; "Flower"; "Friends With Kids"; "The Guilt Trip," alongside Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand; "Leap Year," opposite Amy Adams; Robert Luketic's "Monster-In-Law" with Jennifer Lopez; Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up"; and Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator," among others.

As a producer, Scott started his production company, Gettin' Rad, in 2012 with "The Greatest Event in Television History." Scott created, starred in, directed and wrote each episode. He also produced the acclaimed feature "Other People" and was nominated for a 2017 Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature, won a 2017 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film – Limited Release, and the film won the 2016 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize. "Other People" was nominated for two additional Independent Spirit Awards, with Molly Shannon winning an award for Best Supporting Female. Additionally, Scott and Gettin' Rad produced "Fun Mom Dinner," which he starred alongside Toni Collette, Molly Shannon and Bridget Everett (premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Netflix); and "The Overnight," starring opposite Jason Schwartzman and Taylor Schilling (premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and was released by The Orchard).
