Actor Biography

Born in New York City, Mary Stuart Masterson in an acclaimed writer, director and actress with a versatile body of work. Masterson won the National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the feature film Immediate Family, and was Tony Award®-nominated for her performance in the Broadway show Nine.

Masterson was most recently seen in a recurring role on NBC's Blindspot and in A24's feature-length adaptation of Guy Nattiv's Oscar®-winning short, Skin, opposite Jamie Bell and Vera Farmiga. She was previously seen in As You Are, which won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance, as well as recurring roles on CBS' NCIS and Blue Bloods. She will next be seen in SpectreVision's upcoming thriller, Daniel Isn't Real.

In addition to her prestigious acting career, Masterson is also well known for her directorial debut, The Cake Eaters, which starred Kristen Stewart and Melissa Leo. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was awarded audience and jury prizes at numerous other festivals.  

Masterson's additional TV acting credits include The Good Wife (CBS), Touch (Fox), Mercy (NBC), Law & Order: SVU (NBC) and Waterfront (CBS). Her extensive film credits include The Insurgents, The Sisters, Leo, West of Here, The Book of Stars, Digging to China, Heaven's Prisoners, Bed of Roses, Bad Girls, Benny & Joon, Fried Green Tomatoes, Married to It, Funny About Love, Immediate Family, Chances Are, Mr. North, Gardens of Stone, Some Kind of Wonderful, My Little Girl, At Close Range and Heaven Help Us.

Her other theater credits include Lily Dale (Samuel Beckett Theatre), Lucky Spot (Manhattan Theatre Club) and Three Sisters (McCarter Theatre).
