On the Eve of Her Highly Anticipated Album, “1989,” Global Superstar Taylor Swift Takes ABC By Storm – Appearing on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live October 23 as well as Good Morning America October 27 and 30, and on The View October 29!

On Thursday, October 23, seven-time GRAMMY Award-winner Taylor Swift will close down Hollywood Boulevard for an exclusive concert before thousands of fans on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Taylor will also be the late-night host’s in-studio guest in her first late-night appearance to promote her highly anticipated new album “1989” featuring the No. 1 international hit “Shake It Off,” which has topped Billboard’s Pop, HotAC and Hot 100 charts and exceeded sales of two million downloads.

On Monday, October 27, the release day of “1989,” Taylor will appear on “Good Morning America” for a sit-down interview with ABC News anchor Robin Roberts. Later that week, on Thursday, October 30, the superstar returns to GMA for an epic concert in the heart of New York City, where she will perform multiple songs from “1989.”

On Wednesday, October 29, Taylor will be the featured guest on “The View,” where she will talk with Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace about the success of her new album and her career. Taylor writes all of her own songs and is the youngest artist in history to win the music industry's highest honor, the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. She is the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at No. 1 with three consecutive studio albums.

Taylor Swift has an album on Rolling Stone's prestigious The 50 Greatest Albums of All Time (by women) list, Time magazine has named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world, and she is Billboard's youngest-ever Woman of the Year and the only artist to have been awarded this honor twice. Taylor has career record sales in excess of 30 million albums and almost 80 million songs downloads worldwide, and has had singles top both the pop and country radio charts around the globe. Taylor's album “RED,” released almost two years ago on Big Machine Records, has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide to date, including more than 1.2 million copies in the U.S. in its first week, scoring the highest first-week sales debut of any album in over a decade. Taylor is the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album (2010's Speak Now and 2012's RED) hit the 1 million plus first-week sales figure. ”Shake It Off” is the first single off her fifth studio album “1989” (Big Machine Records), which will be released on October 27, 2014. The single has topped Billboard’s Pop, HotAC and Hot 100 charts and has already earned double Platinum-status by the RIAA for exceeding sales of two million downloads. On the day that Taylor unlocked “Out of the Woods,” it immediately shot to No. 1 on iTunes. Video of Swift discussing the song here: http://abcn.ws/1tVvJyd

Taylor Swift 1989 Bio

She is, quite simply, a global superstar.

Taylor Swift is a seven-time GRAMMY winner, and the youngest recipient in history of the music industry’s highest honor, the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. She is the best-selling digital music artist of all time, and the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album hit the 1 million first-week sales figure (2010’s Speak Now and 2012’s RED). She’s a household name whose insanely catchy yet deeply personal self-penned songs transcend music genres, and a savvy businesswoman who has built a childhood dream into an empire.

But the numbers don’t tell Taylor's story half as well as she could. After all, it’s the intangibles that elevate Swift into the stratosphere of our pop culture planet, allowing the 24-year old singer-songwriter to orbit in a more rarified air. Her large-scale charitable contributions are one thing, but it’s in the small gestures – the notes of compassion she posts on the Instagram photos of lovelorn fans, the genuine hugs she distributes without discretion – where Swift proves time and time again that platinum-selling, record-setting success has not changed her inherent nature. She is awkwardly honest and powerfully empathetic; a brazen superfan, loyal friend, fierce protector of hearts; and one of the world’s greatest ambassadors for the power of just being yourself.

Granted, for Taylor, “being herself” tends towards shimmering, gossamer perfection – but that’s an image regularly blown whenever she dons fake braces and a tri-pony to clown around on late night TV. She’s the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at #1 with three consecutive studio albums, and while she’s been named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, she’s probably the only person on that list who uses social media to post notes to her best friends and videos of her cats.

As Billboard’s youngest-ever Woman of the Year prepares to release her fifth album, 1989, she finds herself, as always, in the glare of a blinding spotlight of expectation – but if you think that scares her, you haven’t been paying attention. She calls 1989 her most sonically cohesive collection, and armed with first single, “Shake It Off,” she’s ready to blaze into the next phase of her still-young career, where she’ll continue to dance like no one’s watching, write like she stole our collective diary, and inevitably soar to ever-greater heights. All that’s left to wonder is how many more lives she’ll lift in the process.
