Recap: Double Performances Determine the Top 5
We're one step closer to the finale of "American Idol" 2024 as the Top 7 take on two different themes for double performance duty to determine the Top 5. Joining judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest are R&B icon Ciara to serve as the very apt mentor for Dance Songs and former mentor Meghan Trainor to serve on stage for a performance. In addition to Dance Songs, the contestants also took on songs by hitmaker Adele.
And here are the Dance Song performances:

• Julia Gagnon performed "Roam" by The B-52s
• Abi Carter performed "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)" by Fall Out Boy

• Will Moseley performed "Gimme Three Steps" by Lynyrd Skynyrd
• Emmy Russell performed "Shut Up and Dance" by WALK THE MOON
• Triston Harper performed "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" by Travis Tritt
Previously serving as a mentor, Meghan Trainor returned in between contestant sets to perform a medley of her two latest songs, "To The Moon" and "Been Like This" which features T-Pain.
