Eric Hill's Biggest Moments on The Bachelorette

Eric Hill's Biggest Moments on The Bachelorette

Eric Hill caught Andi's eye right off the bat, and remainined a central figure in the show until Andi sent him home before the rose ceremony in  Week 4. Eric, 32, tragically died after a paragliding accident in Utah on April 23, after concluding his filming of the show. In the premiere, Chris Harrison announced that his 10th season of The Bachelorette is dedicated to Eric.

As Chris Harrison said, Eric's sudden death was a loss for the entire Bachelor Family. If you didn't get a chance to get to know him through watching the show, or even if you did, we've compiled some of his biggest in-show moments here.

His Arrival

When a bachelor gets out of the limo with a gift, there's about a 50/50 chance it's going to be too gimmicky and get a bit awkward. (Like, perhaps, Brett bringing Andi a lamp from the hotel.) But Eric's dolls and the cute story that accompanied them is pretty much a masterclass in doing it right.

The First One-on-One Date

As noted, Eric made an impression out of the limo, and he was rewarded with the first one-on-one of the season -- a trip to the beach that turned into a helicopter ride to Big Bear for snowboarding. Being an adventurous type, Eric had obviously done this before; Andi had obviously not.

Sabotage!

It wasn't all roses for Eric. In fact, Eric probably hated the sight of the flowers that arrived for Andi while he was having some along time with her before the rose ceremony in Week 3. Smooth move by Nick V, but it sure didn't work well for Eric, who was clearly thrown off his game.

Connection Trouble

Having the first One-on-One can be tough; you get a lot of time with the Bachelorette up front, and then you likely end up not getting much time with her in subsequent weeks as she tries to get to know the other guys better as well. This was definitely an issue for Eric, who found his connection with Andi waning a bit as time went on.

Lesson Learned: Don't Call Andi a TV Actress

Eric, still concerned about his spotty connection with Andi, went in for a serious conversation before the rose ceremony in Week 4 to see if he and Andi had a shot or not. Their signals got crossed early, and after a series of misunderstandings, Eric mentions her being "real" with them, and Andi's gloves come off. Watch the second part of Andi's full response to the situation below.

Both Andi and Eric seemed to recognize that the conversation ended up much heavier than either anticipated, but if Eric wanted an answer as to whether or not he and Andi had a connection, he got it. During their candid comnversation at the end of Week 4, Andi told Chris Harrison that she wishes she'd have a chance for closure with Eric, and that it will be weird to not have Eric at the Men Tell All, but you can be sure the other bachelors will have plenty of memories to share at that time as well.

On behalf of everyone at ABC...you will be missed, Eric. Our deepest condolences to your friends and family.
