Groundhog Day: ABC, Freeform and FX Films and Shows You Can Watch Again and Again
Are you sensing a feeling of familiarity? Like you've been here before? That things are continuing to drag on and on? Don't worry, it's not just you. Groundhog Day is here, and so are another six weeks of winter (potentially)! But worry not - we're here to help. If these cold, long and dark winter days are getting to you, the least we can do is provide you with some binge-worthy shows and movies to keep you occupied! Whether it's comedy, drama or something for the entire family, you'll find exactly what you need and more across ABC, Freeform, and FX.
ABC
You can always count on ABC having a whole host of series you can watch again and again and again. Why not start with the classic comedy series Ugly Betty? America Ferrera stars as the titular 22-year-old Mexican-American who lands a job at a high-fashion magazine in New York City (despite her apparent lack of dress sense) and learns to navigate the politics of the fashion world along the way. There is also a great library of movies to keep you entertained! Who could say no to the Men in Black trilogy, with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as the eponymous sharply-dressed agents tasked with keeping the world safe from alien threats?
Or, if aliens aren't your preferred choice, you can always opt for Deadpool and Deadpool 2, starring Ryan Reynolds as the fast-talking anti-hero. Alternatively, The Shape of Water is a beautifully made, Academy Award-winning film depicting the story of a cleaner who falls in love with an amphibious creature held in captivity at a secret government laboratory.
Freeform
If winter does extend for six more weeks then Freeform original series are a good choice for those cozy evenings. Cruel Summer is a captivating thriller set in the early '90s, telling the story of the mysterious disappearance of popular girl Kate Wallis. The show has been renewed for a second season, so now is the perfect time to reacquaint yourself with Kate's story! Looking to watch a show that's currently airing instead? Single Drunk Female is hot off the press at Freeform and may just help you break up the monotony of winter. Samantha is a 28-year-old who, after hitting rock bottom, moves back in with her mother, attempting to become sober along the way. New episodes air every Thursday, so make sure to tune in or catch up here!
FX
Looking for something with a bit more edge to get you through the repetitive slog of the colder months? There's plenty in store for you on FX too! Mac and company are still up to no good as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia enters its 15th season. There's an interesting change of scenery as The Gang heads to Ireland, bringing their unique brand of chaos with them. If you would like to relive some of their most hilarious moments, take a trip of your own down memory lane with some classic episodes.
Sometimes, there's nothing better than a great animated comedy to pass the time, and we have two of the best available for you to watch now. Bob's Burgers and Family Guy are here to lighten the mood as we leave winter and enter spring. So, whether you decide to opt for the Belchers or the Griffins, you'll have the company of one very funny northeastern family!
No matter how you spend the rest of the winter season, you're bound to not feel that dreaded sense of déjà vu with everything ABC, Freeform and FX have to offer!
