American Idol 2019 Recap: Top 6 Contestants Revealed
American Idol 2019 paid special tribute to Queen, with the Top 8 contestants each performing a song from the legendary band's catalogue. Helping to mentor and prepare the Top 8 to rock the stage was American Idol alumnus and Grammy-nominated artist Adam Lambert. In addition, each of the finalists partnered up for classic movie duet performances, including one from Laine Hardy and Laci Kaye Booth that sparked romance comments from judge Katy Perry: "Watch out Maddie and Caleb!" Once again America's Vote took place during the show, with two of the Top 8 seeing their American Idol journey come to an end. At this stage of the competition, the eliminations get harder and harder and this week was no exception.
Did the Judges Use Their Save?
With two hopefuls facing elimination, it was up to judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie to decide if they would use their last save of the season to keep one of them in the competition for another week.
Laci & Laine's Darling Duet
Could there be another American Idol romance in the making? Katy Perry seemed to think sparks were flying during Laci Kaye Booth and Laine Hardy's performance of "Jackson" by Johnny Cash and June Carter. "Watch out Maddie and Caleb!" warned the judge.
Nail Biter
Madison Vandenburg braved the stage, not only to perform Queen's "The Show Must Go On" in front of another live audience, but with some dangerous-looking nails in her hair!
Jeremiah's Special Guests
Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon's parents were live in the audience for the first time this season while he performed Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever."
7-Year-Old Viral Sensation
Seven-year-old piano prodigy Avett Maness wowed the audience with his performance of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and made us fall in love even more with his adorable interview with host Ryan Seacrest. "I am a viral sensation!" exclaimed Maness.
Who Went Home on American Idol?
Alyssa Raghu and Walker Burroughs saw their American Idol 2019 journeys come to an end.
