The Bachelorette 2018 Recap Week 8: Who Went Home on The Bachelorette?

Week 8 of The Bachelorette 2018 was a big one, as Bachelorette Becca Kufrin criss-crossed the country for Hometown Dates with each of the four remaining suitors: Garrett, JasonBlake, and Colton. Hometowns are a big deal for both the guys and for Becca, and of course, everyone is doing their best to please the families, who are sometimes a bit skeptical of this process. It's hard work, this bacheloretting—and that's before you get old friends like Tia showing up just before the Rose Ceremony to drop a bomb on poor Becca regarding her relationship with Colton. You can watch The Bachelorette season 14, episode 8 right here on ABC.com or in the ABC app, or read on for highlights and to find out who went home on The Bachelorette!

Garrett's Hometown Date

The first stop for Becca was Garrett's hometown of Manteca, CA, where Garrett's family runs a farm. They fooled around on some heavy machinery, planted a rose bush—adorable—and enjoyed a little picnic while they talked about the future, as well as Garrett's past. Garrett, as we have learned, got divorced just over two years ago. Garrett was lucky enough to have a family that rallied around him and supported him during that tough time. But on the other hand, that means they're pretty protective of him, and Becca definitely felt the heat from his parents:

Garrett's father and mother make it clear that they don't want to see their son get hurt

When Becca left, she felt good about where their relationship was, and likewise, Garrett was happy that despite his past, he was being fearless about putting himself out there.

Jason's Hometown Date

Becca then flew to Buffalo, NY, to meet Jason and his peeps. But no matter how urgent your search for love, there's always time for chicken wings, so the pair kicked off their date with a wing-eating contest at Buffalo's renowned Anchor Bar, known as the home of the famed Buffalo Wing.

Though Becca has a great time with Jason, she also noted that the other guys were doing a better job of putting their feelings out there. Jason's family confirms to Becca that he can be guarded at times, and when Jason's brother tells him that time is running out for him to put it all out there, Jason knows it's a make-or-break moment. When Becca's on her way out, Jason tells her that he's "insanely, wildly in love" with her. Copious smooching ensues.

Blake's Hometown Date

Becca's next stop is Bailey, CO, to see Blake. They kick off the date with a pit stop at Blake's old high school for an emotional journey. Blake reveals that when he was a student there, there was a school shooting. His mother worked at the school and his sister was a student too, so it was an incredibly terrifying event. But out of that came a sense of community, and his desire to seize positivity wherever he finds it.

Such as, surprising Becca with a Betty Who concert:

During last week's one-on-one he said he was in love with Becca, which made her swoon. Like the other families, Blake's is worried that he'll get his heart broken again. For her part, Becca says "I can see Blake in my life forever, and his family in my life forever."

Colton's Hometown Date

Becca's last hometown trip is to Parker, CO, to have some personal time with Colton and his family. Last week, Colton surprised Becca with the news that he's a virgin and hasn't really had many serious relationships. While Becca spoke to Colton's family, it was clear that her main concern was that without a few relationships under his belt, he may not be ready to commit to her for life.

Ironically, it's one of Colton's past relationships that poses a problem to Becca the day of the Rose Ceremony: Tia, who appeared on Season 22 of The Bachelor with Arie Luyendyk, Jr., tells Becca that she still has feelings for Colton:

Tia pulls Becca aside and says it maker her sick to see Becca in love with Colton

Nothing like some good old fashioned complication just before the Rose Ceremony!

The Rose Ceremony

It's a big deal to meet your suitors' families, but four bachelors remain, and only three will be moving on after Hometowns. Unfortunately for Colton, he's the odd man out during the ceremony, as Blake, Jason, and Garrett each get a rose. Becca explains that Tia's revelation didn't influence her decision, and that she'd already made up her mind because her feelings for him just weren't there.

Next week, Becca takes Blake, Garrett, and Jason to Thailand for some romantic one-on-one time, with the the Fantasy Suite looming large over the relationships. Don't miss The Bachelorette MONDAYS 8|7c on ABC!
