Alfonso Ribeiro Named New Host of America's Funniest Home Videos

Alfonso Ribeiro will take over for Tom Bergeron as the host of America's Funniest Home Videos next season, ABC announced tonight during the Dancing with the Stars season finale.

Alfonso had a great rapport with Tom while he was competing on Dancing with the Stars, and Alfonso has appeared on the show a few times this year in different capacities, such as performing in the DWTS 10th Anniversary Special.

“After receiving hundreds of inquiries, stacks of video submissions and a very close audition race, one smile, one funny and sincere delivery became our standout favorite -- Alfonso Riberio,” said Vin Di Bona, executive producer. “We look forward to Alfonso leading AFV into the next generation of family friendly viewership.”

ABC’s longest-running primetime entertainment show, America’s Funniest Home Videos, returns for season 26 this fall with the same mission -- giving families something genuinely funny to enjoy together on Sunday nights. Along with a new host, the upcoming season will welcome an abundant supply of fresh clips to keep families laughing from coast to coast.

And lest we move on too fast from the Tom Bergeron era, here's a lovely reminder of how charming Tom is. Watch his final moments on the AFV Season 25 finale with former America's Funniest Home Video host Bob Saget below:

Farewell, Tom, and good luck in the future! You will be missed.
