The Laws of Attraction: The Johnson Edition

According to Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson), the law of attraction is quite complicated. He has a number of questions on the matter, like why do we fall for who we fall for? And why do we often pick someone who is so wrong for us? While some people are lucky to find that person and can keep the fire alive for decades, others burn to the ground. After Dre backs down from a confrontation (in Season 1, Episode 11 of black-ish, "The Law of Attraction"), Pops (Laurence Fishburne) steps up, with Ruby (guest star Jenifer Lewis) and Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) behaving like cavewomen. Here are some laws of attraction, according to the Johnsons.

LADIES: You can do anything your man can do, like firing up the grill to make steaks for your family. 
But when you realize you like the idea of your man fighting for you, don't feel bad - own it! 

GENTLEMEN: Stand up for yourself and your loved ones when dealt with a bully.
But don't go looking for trouble after you've backed down from a confrontation.
