Actor Biography

Michael Landes is Greg Turner, Jeanette's loving father who presents like he has it all together, but there are cracks in his otherwise perfect façade, in Freeform's highly anticipated drama "Cruel Summer."

Landes is an actor and producer from the Bronx, New York. He made his acting debut on the Emmy® Award-winning series "The Wonder Years," playing Winnie Cooper's boyfriend, Kirk McCray. He later landed the role of Jimmy Olsen in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman."

More recently, he played the lead role in the Sky/CW action-adventure series "Hooten & the Lady" and starred in season 2 of the Amazon original series "You Are Wanted." Other roles include the Netflix WW2 series "The Liberator" and the Netflix original series "Traitors." He also co-created, produced and starred in the FOX pilot "Played."

He can also be seen opposite Andrea Riseborough in the Sundance Award-winning film "Luxor" and the Lionsgate feature film "Angel Has Fallen," alongside Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler. Additional film credits include "Last Chance Harvey," opposite Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson, as well as the holiday comedy "Christmas Survival."

Landes also spent the past 15 years making a name for himself in the U.K. In the theater, he played Harry opposite Molly Ringwald in the West End Theater production of "When Harry Met Sally," as well as the lead role in the world premiere of David Mamet's "House of Games" at London's prestigious Almeida Theatre. Both performances garnered him rave reviews. He played Marco Rubio in Nicholas Kent's National Theatre production of "All the President's Men." On television, he starred in the critically acclaimed BBC comedy-drama "Love Soup" as well as Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple," "Upstairs Downstairs," "Miranda," and continues to play the role of Matt Garcia in the BBC's longest-running drama "Silent Witness."

Michael worked on his craft by studying with the late Stella Adler and Ron Burrus of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
