Hannah Brown & Alan
Starting the night off on a high note, most-recent Bachelorette Hannah Brown and her partner Alan Bersten sizzled with a cha-cha to Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)." The debut had the judges excited for the night of dancing ahead with Len calling it "great" and "confident," but Bruno warned Hannah to "be careful not to lose balance" in the fast spins.

Kate Flannery & Pasha
Next up, The Office's Kate Flannery broke out of the boardroom straight to the ballroom with her partner—and new pro addition—Pasha Pashkov, for a cha-cha that impressed. While Len encouraged Kate to straighten her legs, he also told her that she "comes out and sparkles."

Lamar Odom & Peta
Basketball star Lamar Odom faces a unique challenge with partner Peta Murgatroyd: a huge height difference! At 6'10", Lamar towers over Peta at 5'7", which is something they're going to need to work on. Len and Bruno felt like Lamar was too focused on remembering the steps to feel the flow of the dance, but Carrie Ann was "impressed."

Lauren Alain & Gleb
Country star and American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina brought some down-home country flavor to her cha-cha to Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" with partner Gleb Savchenko. Bruno said "it was like watching a sultry southern belle," but while the stylish opening worked for Bruno and Carrie Ann, it was a little light on cha-cha content for Len.

Sailor Brinkley-Cook & Val
Christie Brinkley was thrilled to be paired with Val Chmerkovskiy, but a devastating fall during rehearsals resulted in a broken arm. Christie's daughter, model Sailor Brinkley-Cook, stepped in to fill her mom's dance shoes with only three days to go before the live Dancing with the Stars premiere! For the limited rehearsal time, their foxtrot was impressive with Len telling Sailor she "floated his boat."

Karamo & Jenna
Dancing with the Stars superfan, Queer Eye's Karamo, got exactly the partner he wanted with Jenna Johnson, and that chemistry made its way to the dance floor. But, while Karamo and Jenna came away with a solid score, all three judges were a bit disappointed, with Bruno and Len specifically calling for some more "hip action."

Ally Brooke & Sasha
Pop star Ally Brooke wasn't quite in perfect harmony for her debut cha-cha with partner Sasha Farber, but she showed some strong potential. The judges encouraged her to stay on the music to avoid looking "muddled," but Bruno loved her "sense of attack" and Carrie Ann was excited to see another dancer with so much potential, proclaiming "it's gonna be a good season."

Sean Spicer & Lindsay
Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer faced an uphill battle with his partner, Lindsay Arnold, who described Sean's previous dance experience as "pre pre-school level." But say what you will, you can't doubt Sean's commitment as he came out for his salsa is what was probably the most fluorescent shirt in Dancing with the Stars history. Bruno said he saw "some elements of salsa there," but all three judges agreed with Carrie Ann's sentiment that Sean was "off the beat for most of the dance, but [he] had fun out there."
