Watch Bindi Irwin’s Touching Freestyle Dance to Honor Her Late Father
Bindi Irwin and her partner Derek Hough performed a Freestyle dance on the first night of the Dancing with the Stars finale as a tribute to her late father "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin. Performed to "Footprints in the Sand" by Leona Lewis, Bindi and Derek wowed the judges with their dance, scoring a Perfect 30. Watch it below:
Derek surprisd Bindi with the photograph of her and her father at the end of their routine, which brought Bindi to tears. She wasn't the only one crying, as most of the judges and plenty of audience members were moved by the performance as well. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called it "brilliant," Judge Julianne Hough said that Bindi's season has left an imprint on everyone's hearts, and Judge Bruno Tonioli said the routine showcased "the power of dance in its most pure and effective form."
So yeah, not a bad night for the 17-year-old conservationist, who heads into Part 2 of the Season 21 finale after a pair of perfect dances in Part 1. You can watch Bindi's other perfect dance from last night, a Quickstep, below:
