DWTS 10th Anniversary Special: Recap and Highlights!
The 10th Anniversary special of Dancing with the Stars was an epic celebration of the biggest dance party on the planet. Along with a decade of dance numbers, the show also gives us our weekly fill of laughs, tears, inspiring moments, heated exchanges, spray tans, sexy struts, shirtless six-packs and, of course, Bruno-isms. It’s tough to celebrate all that in just one special. See all the highlights of the night in The Glitter Report!
Those Who Inspired Us: Some of the folks who have appeared on the show over the past decade have overcome incredible obstacles not just on the dance floor, but in life. Stars like J.R. Martinez, Amy Purdy, Marlee Matlin, Heather Mills and this season’s Noah Galloway were not about to let the challenges thrown their way stop them from accomplishing incredible feats. Here are just a few memories of some of the most inspiring people you’ll ever see.
Oh, the Drama: There are bound to be more than a few mishaps, dramatic moments and heated exchanges during 10 years of Dancing, and that’s just from Len and Maks! There have been wardrobe malfunctions, unintended headers and one famous fainting spell. Take a look at the top memories from a decade of drama.
Bodies of Work: Way back in Season One, Kelly Monaco “took home” the very first Mirrorball trophy. Ten years later, she and Val “took off” nearly every shred of clothing to help celebrate all those sexy spray tans we’ve seen over the years.
Recent Champs: He didn’t do “The Carlton” during the 10th Anniversary Show, but Alfonso Ribeiro showed us why he took home the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 19 with Witney Carson. Multi-time finalist Maksim Chmerkovskiy finally won his first Mirrorball the season before with partner Meryl Davis. See both teams do what they did so well one more time right here.
Are You Ready for Some Football?: It wasn’t football season, but that didn’t stop a team of the best to ever play the game from tackling yet another challenge on the dance floor. Stars like Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, Donald Driver and many more returned to the place where they gained a whole new legion of fans. These guys can do so much more than just a touchdown dance!
Music and Dancing: In addition to all the sambas, tangos, foxtrots and quicksteps, Dancing with the Stars has always been known for its memorable musical numbers. Whether it be courtesy of the incredible in-house band or an appearance from a special guest star, the sounds of the ballroom are always some of the highest-quality entertainment you’ll ever see or hear. Patti LaBelle, Amber Riley and Lil’ Kim proved this to be true one more time with their rendition of “Lady Marmalade.”
