Nashville: On the Record Goes Behind the Scenes of "Surrender"
As part of the "Nashville: On the Record" series, go behind the scenes of the song "Surrender" from Season 3, Episode 21, "Is the Better Part Over" airing 05/06/2015. Songwriters Andrew Rollins, Jaida Dreyer, and Brian Loschiavo talk about their songwriting process and how they found the perfect title. On "Is the Better Part Over," Deacon's illness becomes public knowledge. He and Rayna struggle to come to terms with the possibility that their time together could be cut short. Juliette is back in the spotlight, and feeling like her old self, after a series of rooftop performances in several U.S. cities. But while she's reveling in the attention, her team has growing concerns that she may be suffering from postpartum depression. Meanwhile, Will is surprised when his estranged father suddenly shows up. He also learns his personal life is about to become public when a tabloid obtains photos of Will and Kevin (guest star Kyle Dean Massey) together.
