Sean Maguire

Actor Biography

Born in Ilford, Essex in the UK, Maguire received his first role at the age of five on A Voyage Around My Father, followed by several others including the BBC hit soap opera EastEnders in which he played ‘Aidan Brosnan,’ a young Irish football player. He later went on to pursue music and completed three albums and toured throughout the UK. Maguire retired from music in 1998 and went on to solely pursue acting.

In 2001, Maguire starred in the made-for-television event Prince Charming opposite Bernadette Peters, Christina Applegate, and Billy Connolly. In 2003, Maguire starred in the hilarious UPN comedy Eve, in which he played Donovan Brink, an ambitious club owner from England. Since 2006, Maguire has starred on several network shows including CSI: NY, Criminal Minds, Cold Case and the beloved BBC detective series Scott & Bailey.

On film, Maguire has shown his wide acting range from comedic roles to the widely acclaimed Indie film drama Songs for Amy, in which his character creates beautiful music to prove his love and commitment to his bride to be. His performance received numerous accolades.

When Maguire is not in front of the camera, he enjoys being a new Dad, playing soccer with friends and enjoying music. An environmental activist, Maguire has volunteered with organizations to shed light on the effects of climate change and sustainable forms of energy.

Sean welcomed his first child in July 2015, a baby boy named Flynn with wife Tanya Maguire.

The new parents reside in Vancouver, Canada.
