The Oscars 2021 Production Design nominations have been announced! Five films are now competing to take home the most prestigious award in film, the Oscar, with the winner revealed when the Oscars air LIVE SUNDAY APRIL 25 8e|5p on ABC. The nominees for Production Design are: THE FATHER, MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM, MANK, NEWS OF THE WORLD and TENET. THE FATHER

Anthony is 80, living defiantly alone and rejecting the home healthcare aides that his daughter, Anne, introduces. Yet help is a necessity as she can't make daily visits anymore and Anthony begins to doubt his family, his surroundings and his grip on reality.

During a recording session in a Chicago studio in 1927, tensions rise between famed singer Ma Rainey, ambitious horn player Levee and Ma Rainey's white manager, both of whom are determined to control the fiery "Mother of the Blues" to their own advantage.

Film Synopsis

NEWS OF THE WORLD

Film Synopsis
Five years after the Civil War, Capt. Jefferson Kyle Kidd crosses paths with Johanna, a 10-year-old girl taken in by the Kiowa people six years earlier. When Johanna is forced to return to her aunt and uncle, Kidd agrees to escort her across the harsh and unforgiving plains of Texas.

Film Synopsis
After being dismissed from his job, a CIA agent joins a shadowy group of international espionage agents who invert time in an effort to prevent an impending global war that could destroy the planet.


The 93rd Oscars, produced by Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher and Steven Soderbergh, will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 8e|5p, and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
