OSCAR NOMINATIONS 2021 - SHORT FILM (ANIMATED)

BURROW
Madeline Sharafian and Michael Capbarat

Film Synopsis
A young rabbit embarks on a journey to dig the burrow of her dreams, despite not having a clue what she's doing. Rather than reveal her imperfections to her neighbors, she digs herself deeper and deeper into trouble. After hitting (bed)rock bottom, she learns that there is no shame in asking for help.

GENIUS LOCI
Adrien Mérigeau and Amaury Ovise

Film Synopsis
One night, Reine, a young loner, sees within the urban chaos a mystical oneness that seems alive, like some sort of guide.

IF ANYTHING HAPPENS I LOVE YOU
Will McCormack and Michael Govier

Film Synopsis
In the aftermath of tragedy, two grieving parents take an emotional journey that reveals the resilience of the human spirit.

OPERA
Erick Oh

Film Synopsis
The film is designed as an 8K-sized, single-channel animation, which is suitable to be projected on a wall or a large-scale structure. Each section and individual character's activities, which depict human society and history, are intrinsically connected so that viewers can enjoy the entire pyramid in which they appear as one story.

YES-PEOPLE
Gísli Darri Halldórsson and Arnar Gunnarsson

Film Synopsis
One morning, an eclectic mix of people face their everyday battles, such as work, school and dish-washing. As the day progresses, their relationships are tested and, ultimately, their capacity to cope.
