Hayley Orrantia is an actress, singer and songwriter originally from Highland Village, Texas. She was a contestant on season one of The X Factor (USA). Originally auditioning as a solo artist, she and three other contestants were assembled during the bootcamp phase by Simon Cowell into the girl group Lakoda Rayne. They were the last group in the competition and made it to the top nine.
Orrantia recently completed her first solo tour, "Strong, Sweet & Southern," performing at venues nationwide. Some of her solo releases have included "Strong, Sweet & Southern," "Give Me Back Sunday" and "Lovesick." She has also recorded songs on the soundtracks for Disney's Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and Hannah Montana Forever. She has opened for several major artists and celebrities, including Brad Paisley, Easton Corbin, Hot Chelle Rae, Jack Ingram, JLS, Julianne Hough and Rachael Ray. Orrantia has performed at CMA Fest as well as on the main stages at the Texas State Fair, the Montana State Fair and other festivals throughout the country. In addition, she has sung the national anthem for the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Mavericks and many other teams.
An accomplished songwriter, Orrantia wrote the theme song for The Janee Show, and co-wrote "Power of a Girl" for the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts USA. She recently penned the song "Who I Am" for a friend suffering with an eating disorder and has performed it for several National Eating Disorders Association events in Texas and California.
Orrantia appeared in the feature film God's Not Dead 2 as the lead character, Brooke. Orrantia was featured in the movie Cooper and the Castle Hills Gang, which premiered in 2010 at the Dallas International Film Festival. The film has received numerous awards from the National Home Builders, Telly Awards, Webby Awards and the Dallas Home Builders Association.
Since 2009, Orrantia has served as an ambassador for the Texas Music Project, a nonprofit organization focused on helping promote music education in Texas schools. She currently lives in Los Angeles.
