Love Advice According to Barry Goldberg

Whether you are single and pining or taken and still pining for your significant other, Valentine's Day is a great time to profess your feelings for the special someone in your life. The GoldbergsBarry Goldberg (Troy Gentile) knows this all too well. Even though he was finally able to snag his crush Lainey, he still constantly tries to impress her. Barry wears his heart on his sleeve and holds some words of wisdom when it comes to romance. Here is some love advice according to Barry:

Persistence pays off.

Even if you have no game in the love department, your luck could always change! In the season 2 episode, "The Darryl Dawkins Dance," after having no game with the ladies, Barry's luck changes with his childhood crush Lainey.

Nothing says romance better than a rap song for your love.

In the season 2 episode, "Family Takes Care of Beverly," Barry professes his love for Lainey through an original rap song he wrote just for her.

Fancy dinners are great, but sometimes a casual date can be even better.

In the season 2 episode, "Family Takes Care of Beverly," Barry goes to the hospital for food poisoning, but being on a date – even a pity date – with Lainey makes it the best night of his life.

Love is worth chasing after.

In the season 2 episode, "The Darryl Dawkins Dance," when Erica (Hayley Orrantia) informs Barry that Lainey actually likes him, he chases after her at the Sadie Hawkins Dance to tell her he’s okay with being her secret.

Love means doing the impossible.

In the season 2 episode, "Cowboy Country," to prove his love to Lainey - and actually be able to date her - Barry needs to convince his dad to meet hers. Convincing Murray (Jeff Garlin) to go isn't the easiest feat, but Barry makes an attempt to impress his girl.
