1 lb dark brown muscovado sugar
1 Tbs vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
3 eggs
2 3/4 c flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 bag Guittard Akoma extra semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Mix butter, sugar, vanilla, salt and eggs in bowl. Sift in flour and baking powder. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into a 13 x 9 pan and cook for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Raven’s Dessert: “Gooey Butter Cake”

Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 c unsalted butter, melted
3 eggs
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 tsp almond or vanilla extract
4 c confectioners’ sugar, plus more for top
1/4 c strawberries, quartered
1/8 c mint, roughly chopped

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 cake pan. Empty cake mix into large bowl. Stir in butter and one egg. Press mixture (should have the consistency of sticky dough) into pan. In another large bowl, mix cream cheese, extract, confectioners’ sugar and two eggs. Beat for 3 minutes with an electric mixer on medium high, until smooth with NO lumps. Pour evenly over top of cake mixture in pan. Use spatula to spread. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes until golden brown on top. Allow cake to cool COMPLETELY (cake will not cut easily unless completely cool). Top with remaining confectioners’ sugar, strawberries, and mint.
