Along the shore of the North Carolina coast sits a mailbox. It’s not at the end of a driveway and it’s not meant for sending mail. There’s no destination and no recipient. Its purpose is much simpler than that. The mailbox on Wrightsville Beach, stocked with a notebook and a pen, allows those who pass by to leave behind a note, wish or prayer.
