Smash, the HPD Horse – Smash is a Houston Police mounted patrol horse that is also deaf. He is sponsored by five girls with intellectual disabilities who are known as “the Smash Girls”. They raise money every year to pay for Smash’s care through bake sales, fundraisers, car washes, etc. They are now the subject of a book called “Team Smash”.
