Students build a virtual College campus
The UC Berkeley Class of 2020 can still graduate on-campus amid the COVID-19 crisis through the gaming platform, Minecraft. For the past month, Cal students from around the world have constructed realistic renderings of campus spaces using digital blocks. “Blockeley University” features nearly all campus buildings and landmarks, including Memorial Stadium, the Campanile, and the Greek Theater. Graduating seniors are slated to receive digitized caps, gowns, and diplomas. For those who don’t have a Minecraft account, the ceremony will be streamed online.
