Teens use sports to cope with gun violence
Youth Empowerment for Advancement Hangout--or YEAH Philly—is an organization that helps kids directly impacted by gun violence. As a way to cope after seeing peers fall victim to the violence, the organization held a kickball game between kids in the program, community leaders, and members of the 19th police district. An informal setting and a chance for open dialogue, this kickball game is part of a six-week initiative for teens, police engagement. YEAH Philly is hoping to continue the teen, police engagement with other police districts in the city.
