Starbucks manager went from coffee to making custom knives
Russell Montgomery knew he wanted to do something more than managing a Starbucks in Houston, Texas. So in 2010, he went from making coffee to making custom knives. Montgomery said he always liked knives and loved the idea of making them with his own two hands. He trained for nearly six weeks in Oregon, learning the art of knife making and what went into designing custom blades. Montgomery soon opened his shop called “Serenity Knives”, honoring the peace that came to him when working on a blade.
